The People
Nothing works without dedicated, qualified
and caring people. GSI has that special "people ingredient" to
make the technology and application come together under
any circumstance. Some of our staff are long-time Craig
Group people who transferred into Geothermal Services,
while others came from other firms to add their special
expertise.
F. Gordon Craig – President
Gordon is the founder
of Geothermal Services, Inc. It is his vision of the
future of GeoExchange, and
GSI’s part in it, that is the driving force of
the organization. He participates, with his team of
like-minded individuals, daily and does whatever needs
to be done, either in the office or the field, to get
the job done.
Gordon has served in numerous capacities
during the past 20 years with The Craig Group. He
is a graduate
engineer from Rutgers University in New Brunswick,
NJ, a licensed well driller in many states, a heat
fusion trainer, IGSHPA certified and a well-known
leader in the GeoExchange industry.
James K. Flatley – Senior Project Manager
Jim
is a pivotal part of the GSI team with a particular
expertise in underground utility and project management.
He is involved with projects from inception through
closeout. His responsibilities include budget development,
purchasing, managing field construction, and ensuring
that the final project meets all of the client’s
expectations including on-time completion.
Jim has accumulated
30 years of experience in the underground utility
construction while holding key
positions with utility contractors in the Delaware
Valley. During the last five years, Jim has managed
the installation of over 10,000 tons of commercial
and over 2,000 tons of residential GeoExchange projects.
Jim is an accredited IGSHPA installer and manufacturer-certified
as both installer and instructor in various heat
fusion
methods used in the installation of GeoExchange PE
piping.
Jim Moench – Manager Business Development
Jim has
been involved in various aspects of the the geothermal
industry since 1992. His
primary responsibilities include sales, marketing,
client contact and project/business development.
Jim also assists in developing and coordinating new
projects
prior to mobilization of drilling and tie-in crews.
Jim's
background in the energy services and HVAC fields
includes providing turn key residential installations,
as well as coordinating feasibility studies and engineering
design assistance for commercial projects. He has
been
involved in regional sales and marketing management
for over 20 years. Jim is a certified IGSHPA installer
and certified heat fusion technician.
Nick Santana – Licensed Driller and Senior
Crew Leader
Nick has been with GSI since 1995 and has
completed
over 40 GeoExchange projects. He holds drilling licenses
in NJ, MD, and WV as well as a National Drilling
License. Nick is also IGSHPA certified and heat fusion
certified
by major manufacturers of PE piping.
Nick is our lead driller and has been instrumental
in the development of other drillers and drill crews.
He is especially knowledgeable in grout systems as
well as grout mixing and installation techniques.
Dan Clayton – Tie-in Foreman
and Certified Fusion Technician
Dan has been with GSI
since 1996 and prior to that had over ten years of
experience in the construction
industry. He is responsible for all non-drilling
project field coordination, including excavation, pipe
installation, testing, flushing/filling of systems
and system start-up.
Dan’s "hands on" field
management, coupled with his unique work ethic, make
him a valuable
asset to both GSI and the client. He is continually
striving to deliver the highest quality installation
possible. Dan is IGSHPA certified
and holds heat fusion certifications from four major
manufacturers of PE pipe. He has
been directly involved in over 30 commercial projects
and over 5,000 tons of capacity.
Nancy A. Bowen – Controller
Nancy provides GSI
the management information necessary for decision-making.
Nancy’s expertise in accounting
and finance make her a vital member of the organization,
providing timely input to assist with management decisions.
She also plays an important role in maximizing accounts
receivable turnover and maintaining relationships with
vendor and banks.
GSI also has ongoing relationships
with engineers, consultants, utility executives,
executive directors
of programs dedicated to GeoExchange, university
professors and other contractors involved in GeoExchange.
